I knew when I stepped over the little rock wall I was someplace special.

A tiny little cottage with a covered porch sat facing east to witness the sunrise. At the end of the yard, two adirondack chairs sat under the shade of white bark trees, but upon closer inspection, a huge pond stretched out before them.

Like most, at the mention of “Birdseye” a dusty sage brush vision comes to mind. Bald rolling hills for miles around, dotted occasionally with livestock and homesteads. But this was not that. This was a little oasis nestled in the hollow of the hills, but some how felt more like a memory… Like summer camp. Not fussy or stuffy. Just easy… and I never wanted to leave.
